Carlton Tavern

Easy access and plenty of parking. I had pre-booked table for 2 for 12.15pm and we bought drinks and ordered carvery upon arrival. No queue at bar, prompt service and friendly welcome. We were offered a choice of 2 tables. We waited 30mins to be invited up for carvery, despite there being no queue and people being invited up slowly. We thought this excessive, hence only 4star review, not 5. Choice of 4 meats (we each chose 2),Yorkshire pudding, a choice of potatoes 3 ways - roasties, dauphinois and mash, along with carrots, parsnips, pickled cabbage and peas. The veg was perfectly cooked, the roasties had a lovely crunch and the rich gravy tasted delicious. It was worth waiting for - one of the tastiest carveries I've ever had.

We popped in for food and then stayed on for the quiz. Food was fine, normal pub fayre and no complaints at all. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the quiz later and the banter. The quiz master was great, very engaging and did a fab job. We had a lovely night thank you.

My hubby and I come for lunch and a drink now and again. We really like the friendly helpful staff and the food is always good pub food, they also do the best ultimate veggie burger, it's hard to get a good veggie burger but this one is so tasty and has great oozy cheese and crispy fried veg in it. The skin on fries are delicious too. We'll be back, thanks all at the Carlton, it's a nice relaxed pub 👍

It was our first visit. Has been served and taken care by Jodie, who was very helpful and friendly. She made sure our visit was pleasant. And because of her we would definitely like to visit the place again. In fact I have recommended Carlton to my friend too! Thanks Jodie!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Why does English food have a terrible reputation? The food we had at Carlton Tavern was amazing. The staff are very friendly and have a good sense of humour. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening!

The Carlton Tavern is a large pub in a former country house. There is a good range of beers, lager and cider. Unfortunately, the cask ale was not on when we visited. We didn't have anything to eat, but the menu looked very tempting, and the food coming out of the kitchen looked very nice. The staff are friendly and welcoming. There is a dartboard and there is outdoor seating in very attractive gardens and a large car park.

We stayed in the lodges for the night and had food in the pub. Food was lovely, very good prices and staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

As I said we had The Carvery , it was Father's Day I took my husband and little dog she loved the carvery as well. We will definitely be back. Looking fwd to trying the special evening deals.
