Good value beers and spirits, and the usual setup of any Spoons pub. Although the decor is starting to look tired and shabby. Weekends are busy with plenty of atmosphere.

First visited Dec '19 :Visited about 10am on Christmas eve. It was quiet, ordered a traditional breakfast and an American breakfast. 10 minute wait (which is acceptable) but it seems mine was left out while my wife's was still being cooked so not as hot as I would like.. As always you can't knock a spoons brekkies for the price. First time visit and would visit again. Very clean, staff always seen on the move cleaning tables quickly. *UPDATE Oct '23 : Calledbin while passing through for a quick lunch. Ordered 2 crispy chicken burgers. Arrived very quickly and also hot and they were very nice. Smaller plates than normal meals but as it was only a quick lunch snack it was still a good size. Quite busy but it's a spoons so execpected. Great food & great service 👍.

I took my son and his friend out for a meal for his 19th birthday. We called in to Hoylake Spoons for a drink afterwards. My son went and ordered drinks and I got talking to a friend.A few minutes later my son came over to me upset and said the bar staff had taken his drinks from him and told him to leave because his friend didn’t have ID(he did,the member of staff was just too rude to check).I asked for a refund as nobody had even got to drink their drink.I was told they didn’t do that and I watched as my Guiness zero can was placed back in the fridge……what an absolute joke.

Well it’s a Wetherspoons, so you know what to expect if you have ever been to one before. We went for breakfast two days on the run whilst staying at a hotel in Hoylake. The traditional breakfast was nicely cooked and served on a hot plate which is good. Had refill hot drinks which were also good. There were lots of different seating options, we chose cosy areas. As always, there was some nice local history to look at on the walls and the one off carpet to admire (for those of you that don’t know this, the carpets are made especially for each pub). The staff were lovely guys one of which actually noticed that we were back for a second day.

Lovely experience. Pam who served our meals was pleasant and professional. She came across as hardworking and nothing was too much trouble. She served food and never went back to the kitchen empty handed. Well done 👏

It's a Wetherspoons! Cheap, cheerful.and gets busy at certain times of the day. It's not going to win any Michelin stars but you know what you're going to get.
