A fantastic Butcombe pub. We had a lovely stay with our dog for 3 nights. We ate in the pub 2 nights and used their takeaway fish and chips option another night, all washed down with a good selection of beers. The rooms were modern, clean and felt like relative luxury. The pub does get quite busy, but it wasn’t too difficult to secure a table, particularly later on. Car park across the road is free for customers but could get a bit busy in high season. Great walks even from the doorstep. Overall a lovely stay!

Had a fab night from start to finish! I wish I could remember the name of our server, he was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make our evening amazing, as I was celebrating my new job! He did tell me his name but I can’t remember (I’m so terrible with names, I’m so sorry 😭). The young lad that brought us to our table was also very polite and informative. The food and atmosphere was great, we’ll definitely be back again!

Wonderful one night stay at this lovely pub. Great staff who were welcoming, kind, helpful and efficient. Such a nice room with a very comfy bed and really nice soft pillows (a must for me as I usually bring my own!) We had a delicious meal in the candlelit pub and It was hard to choose from the imaginative menu! Excellent location as it’s a short walk to the stunning cove at Lulworth. We definitely hope to return. Enjoyed every moment

Lovely historic thatched inn in the main road to Lulworth Cove, the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal after a day exploring the coastline. We had a perfect evening at The Castle Inn, from the warm welcome we received on arrival, to the excellent food and live music playing in the outside seating area. The service was top tier and had a nice personal touch. The inn has a wonderfully cosy atmosphere inside, and for sunny evenings, there's plenty of outdoor seating. The menu offers lots of appealing options to suit varied tastes, and there's a good drinks selection featuring Butcombe ales.

Eaten here twice in a week, mid week. Love the pub. Love the staff. Love the decor. Food tip top. Choice excellent. Highly recommend and will be back delicious 😋 Will try rooms soon. Normally stay coastguard cottages 4 times.

Fantastic stay as part of a group of 8 for a friend's birthday. The location is great (even better out of season as it's nice and uncrowded!), rooms are lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast the next morning - breakfast is cooked to order from a menu (no sad looking breakfast buffets here!). We had a such a great time, we're already planning a return trip for next year. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a cosy, welcoming break in a gorgeous location.

Beautiful thatched pub with cracking food and brilliant staff. We stayed overnight in a signature room which was small but clean, tasteful and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Location was ideal for a walk to Lulworth Cove. Highly recommended.

Just got back from 2 day stay at castle inn. Absolutely loved it. Location amazing. Literally less than 10 min walk to lulworth cove. Hotel has ample parking and very easy check in. All of the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Loved the accomodation [room5]. Water, coffee,biscuits all provided in the room. Lovely touches, such as pillow spray and ear plugs (not needed). Breakfast fab and loved the smoothie. Also stayed for lunch and dinner. Absolutely superb. Came away with a big smile. We will definately come back. Just a very big thankyou to all the people who served us, including room cleaning. Made our 21st wedding anniversary a truly memorable experience. We also took with us our little mini schnauzer and the hotel is truly dog friendly [sausage for breakfast) I would 100% recommend staying at castle inn. Darren, natasha and evie the schnauzer
