We had a meal at The Chequers Inn and were genuinely blown away. The steak and ale pie was absolutely amazing — packed with flavour, perfectly cooked, and easily one of the best pub pies we’ve ever had. The atmosphere was lovely too: warm, welcoming and relaxed, making it the perfect place to unwind. The staff were brilliant — really friendly, attentive, and made us feel looked after from start to finish. A truly wonderful experience all round. We’ll definitely be coming back!

A fantastic local pub where the staff and owners are incredibly warm and welcoming. The Sunday roast was absolutely excellent, atmosphere is lovely, relaxed, and exactly what you want from a village pub. We couldn’t fault a thing and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

We ate here for the first time and absolutely loved our experience. The pub has a great atmosphere and layout and every member of staff was friendly whilst also very professional. The service was outstanding and our food (the chicken and beef pies) was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

We stumbled across this beautiful pub on our way back from a day out visiting the Pinetum, and so glad we did! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious, it really was — A lovely place to relax after a day out. We will definitely be coming back, and thank you again.

We had a 80 birthday get together. We were made very welcome. Loads of parking available. We had bar food which was plentiful. In all a lovely old pub for get togethers or just a quiet drink . Thank you chequers for looking after us

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing food! Great portions and the steak pie was fantastic. Would highly recommend for a place to eat. Cannot rate the rooms as didn’t stay overnight but the dinner area was comfortable and quaint and has parking.

What a fabulous meal we had here at the Chequers. We were in the area for a few days holiday and looking for a pub with good food. This place did not disappoint. We had the special and it was delicious, great portions, quality produce and a welcome space to sit and enjoy our meal. Fab service too, we were made to feel very welcome. Thank you, would highly recommend.

Surprisingly big pub, a great variety of bar space, dining areas and garden spaces. Friendly pub quizzes and events at the weekends, great selection on tap too with thier own lager that's tasty and affordable. Absolutely lovely!
