The Victoria Inn

Booked for a Sunday evening meal (not carvery). Absolutely loved The Vic Inn in the past, the team went above & beyond for our wedding reception celebrations back in February. (5⭐️ for that day, we were amazed by how wonderful the staff and chefs were! Amber was exceptional from planning every detail with me to setting up on the day) Sadly, last night was average in comparison. Perhaps if we hadn’t picked a Sunday the experience may have been different. My partner & I both had the spaghetti w/ meatballs and were surprised to discover that the pasta was spicy throughout - there was no mention of spice included on the menu so I was only able to eat the meatballs. Would love to know what’s in the sauce as we were playing a guessing game - chilli flakes or something else? Garlic bread was tasty though! Staff seemed fairly busy, but having different servers rotating our table was a perplexing choice. At one point we were asked by two different servers within the space of 5 minutes whether we needed anything, which is wonderfully attentive but a little distracting when trying to enjoy my meal. Starters (whitebait and parsnip soup) were lovely, as was the sticky toffee pudding. I’d recommend adding a note about spice to the menu for the bolognese, and having drinks menus prepped on tables when people sit for meals would save customers having to ask a server to run and get one.

Got here early as advised and have to say was best carvery we have had in long time. All cooked to perfection and portion size very generous. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a mid week carvery, who doesn’t 😆. Staff attentive but not intrusive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I stayed at The Victoria Inn, Threemilestone overnight for work and was really impressed. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing night after a long day. The food was excellent great quality, generous portions, and served with a smile. A special mention to Charlotte and her team, who made me feel so welcome and really looked after me throughout my stay. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. I’d come back again in a heartbeat highly recommended for anyone staying in the area, whether for work or leisure!

Just got back from carvery on Sunday. Checked in and was told very abrubtly'leave table at 6.30.our table was booked for 5.15. Went to table and sat down. Waitress came and murdered. We all wanted carvery. By 5.45 still not served. I went and asked why. Chef hadn't got our chit. No apology. Then had our meal. No 0ne asked if our diners were OK. Finished meal. Went to pay. The front of the carvery ares had food over it and the gravy had been spilt. Food was good but spuds were not crispy. Service needs to be improved.

Best mid-week roast dinner today. My recommendation is to get there early as it is super fresh as the later you go the busier or dryer the meat can be. All in all, great value and very nice decor.

Been there a few times okay? This time there was a group of about 12 people shouting at the top of their voice, especially this big Chat watching football I went there for a quiet Saturday lunch with my wife, there With a few other couples Pull faces at the noise I said I’m not eaten here and started to walk out. I said the two people there serving food what is going on? Why don’t you tell me to keep the noise down? They seemed to agree but shrug the shoulders. They shouldn’t be in the restaurant shouting bowling. They should be in the other bar, not in the restaurant, I couldn’t believe it what ignorant people. and what a shame that people run in the bar got no consideration for their customers.. Well, they have if you want to shout and watch football . Well I won’t go there again we went to the county arms well fantastic there begets our brilliant beer was good excellent service lovely view forgot how good it was. I haven’t been there for 25 years or more recommended to everyone that’s what will be eaten in the future County arms well done

Just had the carvery again. So good. The place is very popular so booking is probably essential most of the time.

Lucky to call The Vic our local, food is always great as is the atmosphere and Sunday Carvery is the best. Ben, Amber and the rest of the staff are always so lovely and welcoming. On a personal level they are helping us out with an Event and being hosted by The Vic. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always there to support, they have been nothing short of amazing. This is community and going that extra mile feels like an extended arm of support which is incredible during this difficult time.
