Had the most wonderful time for my son’s 1st birthday at this beautiful pub right in the centre of Corfe. Stunning views of the castle and their garden overlooks the steam railway which was a huge win with the kids. Absolutely delicious food & service was impeccable. The pub itself is beautifully decorated with log fires roaring in their cosy bar area. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful little brewpub - love their beer (Isle of Purbeck brewery). Their Purbeck Porter is especially delicious. The food is really excellent as well, with a continually changing menu on a blackboard. Great place to eat outdoors in the summer, but watch out for the herring gulls - don't leave your food unguarded! 🤣 Also be sure to check the kitchen opening hours when you go - when we last went there was a gap between their lunch and dinner service.

We stayed in room 7, which was very comfortable with a lovely sea view. The pub was quiet but the fire was lit and the service was very friendly and warm. Steph was a lovely, helpful host and the food was very good, including breakfast. Would recommend!

Busy, busy, busy. Stunning views from garden, but be carefull eating outdoors, the gulls don't hesitate to invade your table. Good range of real ales. For those not in the know, there's a bus stop on the main road, alight there and enjoy a 10min walk to the pub. Didn't eat here.

Slightly surly welcome and tepid food aside, this is a nice old pub, with a cosy feel that belies it's size. Nice outside space too - clearly the owners have invested well. To be clear, I'm rating the pub, not the hotel... The food (we were there for dinner) was tasty, as it should be for upper end of pub prices (but the hearty venison stew would've been even better hot). Very local beers, some brewed on site. Fresh and moreish. I'd head back inside if passing, but wouldn't make a detour.

The sausages were awful — I honestly have no idea how someone can mess them up that badly. The fish and chips were edible but extremely greasy, and the overall quality of the food was poor. Considering the food arrived in just five minutes, it really felt more like something reheated than freshly cooked. On top of that, everyone ended up with heartburn afterward. The prices are ridiculously high for food this bad. Absolutely not worth it. Avoid!

Food was lovely. I'd recommend the pie and the chicken supreme. Location is amazing, especially if you sit in the garden looking out over the bay. The only down side was that they served my food before everyone else's. When I sent it back and asked to be served with everyone else, they tried serving me the same dish, which had been kept warm. Once this had been resolved and I was given a fresh meal, the food was excellent.

The Bankes Arms is so wonderful. Everyone was quite friendly, and it seemed like a place busy with locals and holidaymakers alike. The food was alright. I asked the lad behind the counter for what food he recommended and he said "oh, everything!" and I instantly saw him at 10 years younger. Surely he could have a preference, or describe a difference? When my ham and eggs arrived.. it's just Tesco sliced ham and cooked eggs. The chips are great, but the meal wasn't really worth. All said, we would come again. It's very dog friendly (we have a 3kg dog who enjoyed every minute). The beach is a 5m walk away.
