Went to Sunday carvery today, prob the best Sunday roast in a pub weve had for ages. The food was hot, cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and really looked after us. We had beef, pork and lamb selection, all incredibly delicious, the pork crackling was golden and crispy and the beef edge to edge pink. Can't wait to go back again!

Haven't visited since the kitchen fire and new management took over the venue. The team are doing some incredible food outside over fire, wood and charcoal making the most of the situation without compromising on flavour and quality. One of our most frequented local businesses

We had pizza at the Shoe last night, having heard that it was good, and it was so good! My sister and I had the Truffle Shuffle Mushroom and Stilton pizza which was possibly the most delicious pizza I have ever had. It was gooey and cheesy with a good amount of toppings and a crust that was as delicious to munch on as the centre. My daughter had the smaller version of the margarita (as there was no kiddy option), and that was delicious too. Also the games cupboard is great, which is lovely as previously we felt The Shoe didn't really have much of a kiddy offering, but we had a great time playing vintage Frustration!

Such a beautiful homely atmosphere, staff are so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend coming for dinner. The food is unreal, the best I’ve had around and brought out by the chef himself! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went for a carvery roast as this place had only been open a couple of months. The pork was moist and lovely with crackling that went off like a machine gun when bit into. The cauliflower cheese was the nicest gooey cheese that I've ever had. The beef was perfectly cooked and slightly pink in the middle. The only bad points were the carrots which weren't so much al dente as chisel substitutes, and the Yorkshire puddings were like muffins. The chef agreed something had gone wrong and they're normally much better. The atmosphere was quiet but with a led zeppelin soundtrack that seemed to fit in ok. Will definitely go back.

Excellent friendly service. Large car park where motorhomes can overnight. Food limited following the loss of their kitchen in a fire, but they are still serving food cooked over flames outside. We had the Sunday roast which was excellent - the pork belly porchetta was to due for, and my partner enjoyed her roast beef - Sunday roast with a smoky BBQ twist. You have to admire their efforts to keep going - pleased to support them. Hope to return to see what they can do when a full kitchen has been rebuilt.
