Cracking pub, in the heart of Ripponden. Two distinct bars on separate floors: one floor for sports on TV and the other for drinks and conversations, nice set up. Good choice of drinks and reasonably priced. Friendly staff too. If there was hot food available it would be an excellent addition. Good place to watch the match or enjoy some nice drinks though. There is also an outdoor drinking patio out the back too but you'll need to be able to handle a good few stairs.

Upon my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome I received, as if I were a regular customer. The establishment boasts a fantastic variety of beers, contributing to the already friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind. Additionally, the fact that they offer treats for dogs was the perfect finishing touch.

It's the first time I've been but I was welcomed like a regular. Great selection of beer to add to the friendly atmosphere makes it a great place to go. Treats for the dog also added the icing on the cake

Barmaid thinks she's Inspector Morse. Daughter (18) went with two friends (also 18) and the barmaid thought it was "suspicious" that they had driving licences as ID. I'm not sure what ID she was expecting 18 years old to take with them. She then made them sign and checked their signatures. One of them didn't exactly match so refused to serve any of them. In my opinion they should have left as soon as she started with the silly business. So, if you're lucky enough to look under 21 don't be offended if you have to provide, driving licence, passport, birth certificate and both parents.

Can't fault this place. They have a good range of drinks, nice pork pies, plenty of screens showing sport and the staff were great. I went in with a friend to watch a match and there were no tables with chairs left. Someone saw we couldn't sit, cleared a table and grabbed two seats for us in view of the TV. Brilliant service.

An Excellent local I frequent regularly. Staff are courteous and engaging and serve well. LIVE MUSIC on offer, with an excellent bar downstairs also the "champions bar" or something outside, they also offer table service non-begrudgingly outside which is amazing.

Called in to return some property to someone. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly barman and good selection of beers. Plenty of TVs for sport. Was a Saturday afternoon but not too busy. Snacks food on offer but didn't try any. Will certainly visit again.
