I'm a bit of a sucker for traditional pubs with a nautical theme and being next to the sea (and a sailors reading room!) this place ticked all my boxes. Loved sitting on the front benches in the sun, taking it all in. Adnams only really but good beer.

Of course, there's only Adnams here, but it's a well kept pint. A few benches outside and people were taking their drinks to the seafront too. There's a pizza company that do food till 8.30 and it's really good. You can even get a box to take leftovers home. The bar staff didn't clear the tables in the entire time we were there. We even walked past half an hour later and our two rounds of glasses were still on the table and it was quiet by then - a bit sloppy really.

We popped in here around 6 ish Friday 24th Oct as we had a cottage in Southwold. It well deserves it's 5 star rating! It's a busy local bar, which welcomes the many visitors who pop in. Sharon and her team manage to make everyone feel welcome and it's service with a smile. We didn't try the food but the pizza looked amazing.

A nice warm and welcoming pub, but could do with a bit of work on the toilets and seating area at the back. A great range of Adnam ales as you would expect.

5/5

Such a nice pub, friendly staff well kept beer. But the biggest surprise was how great the food was. Best real pizza we have had in a long time. Even asked for a mixed half and half, which they were happy to do. Best fresh ingredients, highly recommended.

We love this pub, great beer & we really look forward to visiting. We're so glad that we can now get Black Dog Deli pizza, they are absolutely delicious & very reasonably priced - being able to also have food there makes it an even better experience.

2/5

Expensive beer for something made 200 yards away, hardly any delivery costs and rather bland to be honest. But then, £11.60 for two pints might just be Southwold prices, (mostly unjustified). The pizza was great but apparently is supplied by a separate company.

A good old fashioned drinking pub close to the beach and heart of Southwold. Alongside a range of drinks they also serve wood fired pizzas. The place is often busy but you can usually find a seat inside or in the courtyard at the back.
