Wednesday 13th August Stopped in for food and drinks after walking Really nice place, seating inside and out. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Food was excellent, Steak Pies are a must. Was very happy with the food and service. Will call in again when we are over that way.

This was recommended by our hosts at Woodpeckers Cottage. It's a lovely and very welcoming place. We arrived with no booking, 2 of us, early 30's with a baby in tow. This place is proper pub grub done really well. I'm just gutted I was too hungry to remember to take pictures. I had the steak pie which I had seen a number of reviews on and it really didn't disappoint. My favourite thing was the waitress put everything down and asked if I needed more Gravy... and of course she had read my mind. My husband had the lasagne and again it was delicious. We shared a sticky toffee pudding for dessert with ice cream and again would happily recommend. This was our favourite eatery from the few days away. Good prices, lots of choice for drinks and we particularly liked the singing waitress! If you're looking for a cosy pub with great grub, look no further.

Called into the pub on our last visit to the area. Thought we would try for food on our first night staying locally, under new management and explained they had a new till system that day. The staff and the food are an absolute credit to you. We really enjoyed our evening. Good luck and we will return !

The sign outside says good food served all day (if I remember right). That is an understatement. It.is excellent. I had homemade steak pie. The pie meat was plentiful, tender and delicious. my husband had the fillet steak - first mouthful he said wow, it.had melted in his mouth. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Dog friendly. Highly recommend

First of all our very first visit and given the wrong table number then had to show on my phone my booking as if I was lying. I can't knock the food there was plenty on the plates. We did ask a member of staff for help but never got it so I had to do it myself because the member of staff walked away saying I'll get someone to help but I watch them just go past our table several times without no help at all, and my brother is disabled. But not to worry we have decided not to come back. Not because of the food but because of lack of empathy for the disabled.
