Draught Bass, London Pride, and another! Tried all 3 and of course they tasted as they should, wonderful ! A great old local serves wine and other alcoholic drinks as you’d expect from a decent booza ! Barmaid great too!

A proper old style Pompey boozer and frequented by decent people. One of the last remaining pubs like it in Portsmouth, that don't rely on tacky themes to pull in students. Staff are top quality people too. Well recommended!

After nearly 4yrs living here, I made my first outing today. A proper Pompey pub. The lady who served was friendly, asking how my day had been which prompted a little convo. The fixtures added to the pub. I dare say I'll return.

Six of us went here on Saturday evening. Pompey was rammed, so we went slightly further out. The guy behind the bar was absolutely great. He's one of those, these days, a rare touch, who can take six drinks orders and remember them correctly. This in itself would have made me post this review. But there's more. I hadn't even had a drink before we arrived. We moved tables early, and unknown to me, I 'misplaced ' my jacket. As we went to leave, I resigned myself to the fact that it was lost and I might have a chilly evening. But a friend asked behind the bar...... They'd only gone and hung it on the coat rack! Jacket returned. Very grateful. So further thanks to the dark haired bar lady who helped with the jacket.
