We went for a family meal on Boxing Day. The staff were friendly and we were really impressed with the allergy care and options available for gluten free. However, service was really slow in a restaurant that wasn’t all that busy. We waited ages for our first drinks and they never arrived. However they were deducted from our bill. Food was lovely-not massive portions and nice to have a choice of things that aren’t chips!

Didn't stay (so ignore the 5* for rooms!). Went for Sunday lunch and had breads and oils as a sharing started - the freshest, tastiest breads and home-made oils we've had anywhere in a long time! The roast main courses were plentiful and delicious. The brioche bread and butter pudding could have done with more egg/milk mix before it was baked as it was a little dry unfortunately, but it tasted good. Lizzie (our server) was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive - thank you!

Booked a table for early Friday evening drinks and some food. Waited over 20mins for first drink. Subsequent orders also very slow. Had to ask if we could order food. The waitress in the restaurant was clearly in experienced. Not good enough for the prices you charge . I will say that the quality of the food when we finally got it was good and we enjoyed a selection of starters and sides to share - that was good. Service has to improve

Disappointing roast dinner. We booked for my Dad's 70th, as he always enjoys the roast dinner here. Hugely disappointing compared to previous visits. Service slow. Food wasn't anywhere near the quality we expected. Roast potatoes tasted like cook from frozen. Not enough veg. 1 of our party had 1 roast potato! Poor presentation. Very expensive for poor quality food. Pointed all of this out to our server and just an apology offered in return. We'll definitely try somewhere else next time instead.
