Darrington

Really looked forward to staying here. The people who checked us in were lovely and really accommodating. We stayed in a double room and for the price it wasn't too bad, but we had no door nob on the door, and no TV remote. The bed was comfy. When we went down for breakfast the next morning we were ignored by the waiting staff and everyone else was served before us even tho we had been there for 30 minutes. We had to go to the bar and order in the end, and it took 25 minutes for the food to come after. I don't think we will stay here again, but the hotel staff are lovely!

I have stayed here for almost three weeks for work, Chloe and Molly have been absolute stars during my stay. Happy to help and always with a smile, I wouldn’t ask for a better pair of staff. Thank you so much for being so welcoming and inviting, I will 100% be staying here again because of them alone. The room are decent too 😁

Fantastic service at the Darrington pub. The burgers are delicious at a great price. Buy 1 get 1 free on Fridays. This is our go to pub for great food as our monthly treat, the staff are always smiley and friendly. Molly is lovely & funny. Hats off to the chef Elliott too.

The bar/waiting staff are amazing! Very friendly & welcoming. The food on the other hand was disappointing it felt like the ‘cook’ didn’t care, cold steak, chips & onion rings barely saw a heat source. Also the lack of facilities is so disappointing, no play area for older kids, just an area with baby toys. Explains why in the midst of summer it was so quiet, you’d think the ‘cook’ would make more of an effort to impress as he/she had plenty of time. But again thank you to the other staff they were so lovely. Also the ‘famous’ salt & pepper chips were frozen chips sprinkled with salt & pepper seasoning…. Not a pepper in sight!!

Excellent stopover just off the A1. A great place to have a good value meal and a couple of pints to break the journey from nort to further afield in the south. Really chilled, nice meal, beer reasonably priced

We stayed at the Darrington and ate/drank in the bar, the man who checked us in was so lovely and helpful. In the bar we were looked after by Molly - if every Greene King had a server like Molly we would visit every day. She was so accommodating and made sure we were comfortable throughout our evening. She is a real asset to the pub and brings genuine warmth and kindness to the bar - 100% Hope she gets the recognition she deserves!

Molly and her Friday night team are amazing. Staff are always happy and very helpful, nothing is ever too much. We visit almost every Friday night and the staff keep us coming back week after week :)

Karen was extremely helpful from our arrival last night, to serving us breakfast this morning. Half of our group had to leave early so they gave us bacon sandwiches and hash browns to take away for them. Very hospitable, attentive and kind. Would definitely recommend staying here for anyone who is coming to the area. Thank you!
