A lovely pub / eatery with a great team! We popped in for dinner and drinks and were greeted by an upbeat chappy who asked whether we were here for drinks or to dine. Once we confirmed our intentions he even asked whether we’d like to dine in the pub area or in the dining area. Thanks for considering this. Once seated we our server who again was super great presented menus and we have a bit of a chat before heading off to look after other diners. Honestly we couldn’t quite decide, but eventually we went for the Beef Burger and Venison Burger with some chopped chillies on the side. Both were lush. My partner and I halved and shared! No room for desert. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and the service was great. Thanks for having us and if we’re back in the area we shall call in again!

OMG!!! Absolutely outstanding food. The best I've had in a long time. My hubby and I walked past several overpriced establishments that seemed to sell standard pub food while looking for a place to have a nice anniversary meal. I'm so glad we walked past them all to come here. The food is amazing. Staff are very attentive despite the busy atmosphere and look after you well. There are also varieties of house gin you can try. Not a gin lover myself but they were extremely smooth, not bitter at all. Dog friendly too. For our starters we had scallops with venison chorizo. Absolutely divine. If you're in the area don't miss this place.

A gorgeous meal with friends, terrific staff. I had the monk fish which was amazing with a mango curry sauce! 6 of us with 2 bottles of wine and several other drinks and 3 courses each £100 per couple don’t miss this lovely pub!

Spent a lovely few days in Pitlochry with friends for The Enchanted Forest. Had our first night meal in this really lovely pub. Great atmosphere and despite midweek , very busy which is always a good sign 👍😃

Lovely old pub with a great selection of beers and a varied menu. The home-cooked bread and balmoral chicken were both amazing! Friendly and helpful service and really nice feel to it. Inside decor is lovely and outside tables are great when the weather is good. It’s on the Main Street so not a great place to have a meal with your girlfriend before the Coldplay concert but the meal would probably make it worth your wife finding out!

Warm welcome by friendly professional staff. Great atmosphere. We took a selection of small plates to get a feeling for the place and watched the food coming out the kitchen. Lots of fabulous options. I really enjoyed their Cullen skink. We will be back to try more :)

We visited the inn for dinner, and it’s a nice place that locals frequent for drinks and food. We particularly enjoyed the cosy local pub atmosphere and the attentive service. The food was good, with the monkfish scampi and chowder being our favourites. The oyster and seafood linguine was average.

We had a wonderful dinner at The Auld Smiddy. It's a lively spot loved by both locals and visitors—definitely worth booking ahead. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and full of good recommendations, which made us feel really well looked after. We shared a cheese board to start, tried one of the daily specials, and had the venison & pancetta tagliatelle ragù for the main. Everything was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding, though, was the highlight—I’d recommend it to anyone. We’ll definitely be back, and we highly recommend it if you’re visiting Pitlochry or the surrounding area.
