The location of The Bowman is great with it being close to where I have come to work from Glasgow for the week. The rooms are what we need. Warm and cosy with a comfortable bed and kettle for a cuppa! The dining experience was fantastic the staff were happy and friendly to offer assistance! Our server Natalie was top class and made it easier for us. Making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Recommend a visit here

Been to this hotel a few times now. Love the location, great for a middle point for shopping and Rock City. There's an Irish lady who works in the pub who has a lovely personality and makes me feel at ease when ordering. I do not know her name, but will make a point of asking next time .

This is our 4th visit this year to The Bowman and we are always happy with quality of rooms, cleanliness and the service by all the staff. Today 10/11/25 we were served by Robert in the restaurant and he was brilliant. Very Friendly and great to chat with. Always happy to get you whatever you need. Highly recommend him as your server. Stayed in the hotel for work & was really impressed with the cleanliness & it looks recently refurbished (or just very well cared for). Bed is super comfy too! Called in for breakfast and it was lovely. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful but I wanted to thank the lady with the northern Irish accent in particular. She went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and was extremely hospitable. Thank you!

Everything had been going great until a regular came knocking on our door at 06:15 sunday morning looking for a lighter. Definitely not the end to a good weekend. Other than that everything was ok, a good location to do Bestwood parkrun. Staff were friendly. Place was functional for what we needed and plenty of parking.

can here tonight at 6pm with my pregnant partner and 3 year old daughter to spend the entire meal listening to a table shouting and swearing loud enough for the whole pub to hear!!! not a single staff member spoke up and just allowed this to continue so much so we canceled our desert and left. food was great and came quick. but come on its a family pub would expect this sort of thing to be dealt with straight away.

Great place and great service. Staying the night in one of their rooms and its lovely. Placed a food order and it arrived really quickly. Tasty food and friendly staff especially Shannon who went out her way to make sure I was looked after. Definitely recommend this place for a visit.

Absolutely brilliant pub! The food was amazing, service spot on, and the atmosphere really welcoming. I’d also like to give a special mention to Noelle – she’s not been there long but is already doing a fantastic job. I knew her from another pub and she’s just as friendly, professional, and attentive here. A real asset to the team – this place is lucky to have her!
