Stumbled upon this sweet quaint pub today and what a pleasant surprise. The staff who it turns out are volunteers! Were so welcoming and friendly and we were so pleased they squeezed us in. The sunday roast was fabulous as was the Crab Starter and fish of the day. Highly recommend as the food and the atmosphere was A1! I live over an hour from here but will definitely be returning!

What a beautiful place this is. Had to take a detour off of the M4 due to a major incident on the way to London. What an exquisite place! The food is amazing the staff are exemplary, rooms are quaint bed is super comfy, highly recommend.

Apologies - I hate giving less then great reviews but we really didn't like the food. The service was good and drinks OK. We arrived early for a 12:30 booking - I tripped over some rubbish bags left inside the doorway on the way in which made me chuckle as the trip made me skid on the welcome mat! High hopes of a nice lunch from the reviews I'd read before booking just didn't materialise. The burger patty I had fell apart into gritty bits as I touched it and the bun was stale. The calves liver special; definitely wasn't. The story of the pub was nice and it was a nice place to stop but we left hungry and disappointed.

Lunch was really substantial and nice to find something a bit different on the menu - liver and mash followed by treacle tart with jam in it - delicious. We drove from Ludlow as my friend’s 3 yr old had lost his fav soft toy (in a pit stop during a type 1 diabetic hypo). A very kind person at the pub drove twice to the nearby lay-by and found it. The pub was an unassuming gem with great service too.

What a find! Just looking for a lunch stop off the M4, so dropped in. The most wonderful chard, potato, lentil and cheese soup with toast and butter, and a pint of really well-kept best bitter. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I urge you to visit.

Lovely community run pub - great building, nice atmosphere (no tinned music blaring - yay!), friendly service and good real ales. Only downside was the food seemed a little pricey for what we got, but if you stick to the proper pub grub would probably be fine.

On return trip to London we came off m4 at hungerford to find a food outlet , after about a mile from m4 we stumbled across the tally ho pub and so glad we did the staff were all smiling and friendly and the home Cooked food was to die for we would definitely go there again sticky toffee and date pudding was probably the best iv ever had and the prices were very reasonable top marks from us!!

My husband, son, and I stayed here for a night after our long haul flight from LA to London. We decided to make this our first stop on our English roadtrip and it was the perfect stop for us! I wanted a place close to the freeway and that had good food for us and our toddler to have an easy evening post travel. We loved that The Tally Ho was so welcoming and provided snacks/breakfast for us in our room. The food in the tavern below was delicious and the people were a great chat as well. Is it the most amazing aesthetic room ever? No it is an authentic tavern. But they were still quaint, clean, it had everything we needed and then some, plus the beds were comfortable. No noise was heard at night from the tavern when we were there. In fact I believe they close at 10 or 11. Go travel off the beaten path a little and enjoy your stay here. I would 100% return!
