We had our wedding ceremony at Shaw House and then came to the Hartley Arms for our wedding reception. We had an amazing day, and a large part of that was the incredible attention to detail which Alan and Alison displayed for each aspect of the day. The food was absolutely incredible (as it has been every time we've visited), so thank you so much to chef Milan. Both Alan and Alison were excellent in helping us plan everything, we really couldn't have asked for a better experience. Chef Milan was very accommodating with our menu requests and was able to accommodate different allergies and vegans.

We recently held our wedding reception at The Hartley Arms, and had a brilliant experience from start to finish. The food was always our top priority for our wedding and that's definitely an area where The Hartley Arms goes above and beyond. We've eaten here a few times now, and every single time has been fantastic. Our guests haven't stop complimenting the food, every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. We had a 3 course sit down menu and then a hot buffet in the evening. They even gave out leftovers to the guests when the buffet had ended, who needs favours when you can take home a package of delicious honey baked ham! They were incredibly accommodating in making sure we selected a menu that we loved, and that also accomodated a number of food restrictions. Any food restrictions were dealt with great care, especially the evening buffet making sure that everything was segregated and clearly labelled. We were looked after through the whole process by Alan and Alison who were very attentive throughout and went above and beyond to make our day special and smooth running. It was especially impressive given that we planned everything in around 3 months. They set up all the decorations for us and did a brilliant job of moving them around during the day to best suit the current setup. The custom cocktails for our welcome drinks were fantastic and greatly enjoyed by our guests, and was a great touch. The space was perfect for our 40 guests, we were lucky with the weather and were able to use the private courtyard and dining room for our welcome drinks, and the size of the main room meant we had enough space for everyone, but also provided a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Some of the tables were then removed for the evening which combined with a speaker and disco ball gave a brilliant little dance floor for the evening. I also want to make a special mention and big thank you to the chef Milan who really does produce incredible food that is beautifully presented. Additionally, a thank you to all the staff on the day who helped everything run so well and did a great job. Thank you for helping make our wedding reception such a fantastic day, and look forward to returning soon.

Allison and Alan have the best pub in the area. We often come around here for family pub meals, and this is our first time to come to the Hartley Arms. We had lunch on a Saturday and it was busy but great atmosphere. The food was amazing. Every dish we ordered was so tasty. We ate Scampi, chicken and rabbit roulade and seasonal vegetable soup as starters. With our mains being Steak, pan fried fish of the day and fish and chips. I wish this was my local pub in London

Update April 2024 Another superb meal at The Hartley Arms. Delicious pork cheeks for starter and lamb foe main course. Also a delicious steak. Wrapped things up with a tasty rhubarb crumble. Friendly service and an enjoyable evening. Excellent evening. Booked to dine at the last minute and enjoyed a delicious steak and lovely bottle of wine from the discounted wine list. Friendly service and will definitely visit again.

A fabulous pub. Fantastic service and the Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious. Splendid starters and then incredible roast beef with a great selection of vegetables. We were far too full to have a pudding, so we'll have to save that for next time! Very highly recommended.
