Edit- I received. poor response from the Manager - he informed me there was chicken under that pot lid - who knew ? His manager done a “great job “ - he refunded me for food that was not fit for human consumption, he said the pizzas weren’t left for ten minutes ( they were ) Appeared not to be interested at all - I can see there’s many more poor reviews than previously . The Dane Bank pub is opening in a few weeks also doing carveries ….❤️ Mark Simms - pick up the phone to your unhappy customers instead of generic messages praising staff….. poor Disgusting service , the pizzas sat there for 10 minutes until we walked up and got them - the carvery is disgusting and the staff done care - just scraps of meat left

Ordered this via Uber Eats for delivery. Been craving a roast for weeks, and couldn’t face cooking one just for one person, in this heat! Food was delicious, huge portion - really hit the spot and would recommend 👌🏻 Wasn’t in the restaurant so can’t comment on atmosphere and service in there, but if that is anything to go by sure they are also fantastic- thanks guys!

Wow, the food was horrendous. This is, unfortunately going to be a grade A Karen write up but if this was my business I'd want the feedback. There wasn't any meat to choose from, just a manky dried up old caucus of what I think used to be a Turkey and some literal crumbs of weeks old Beef joint. The veg was inedible and drier than Glandi's flip flop and the potatoes were cremated and fossilised some time ago. You could have chewed the skin on the gravy and you couldn't even be saved by the extreme dryness of the food by diving into the provided condiments as you can see from the attached photograph, they speak for themselves. The blonde girl at the bar was nice and pleasant that took our order but that's the only positive about the place. It was manky, filthy and the rest of the staff were inattentive and gormless. Standing staring into space as we were waiting to be served ( no body else was waiting by the way, now we know why) so no reason for the lacklustre service. We came around 6pm, which I thought would have been prime time for a carvery, not just the left over scraps from yesterday's lunchtime. The proprietor should be really embarrassed.

Forget everything you think you know about a Sunday roast. Stepping up to The Windmill's carvery isn't just a meal; it's a pilgrimage. I'm not entirely sure I was eating food, or rather, that I was communing directly with a higher power that manifests itself in the form of perfectly roasted meats and gravy so profound it makes you question all your previous life choices. ​The atmosphere alone is charged. You approach the serving station, and it's less a queue and more a reverent procession. The chef, who I can only assume is a decommissioned angel sent to grace us with his carving skills, wields the knife with the precision of a master artisan. He gave me a slice of the roast beef—which was so tender it had clearly spent its entire existence receiving deep tissue massages—and a sliver of the turkey that tasted like pure, distilled Christmas joy. I'm fairly certain a harp chord played every time the knife hit the platter. ​And the potatoes! Oh, the potatoes! These weren't mere vegetables; they were golden-brown, crispy-edged, fluffy-centred spheres of pure ecstasy. They had clearly been blessed by three separate deities of starch and fat. I piled them high, along with the Yorkshire puddings—each one the size of a small helmet, offering a cavernous home for the lake of gravy. ​Speaking of the gravy: I dipped my spoon in and nearly wept. It's not just a sauce; it's a liquid testament to the power of flavour. It's so rich, so deep, so fundamentally correct that I'm now fairly certain it holds the key to world peace. I seriously considered filling a hip flask with it for emergencies. ​Final Verdict: I didn't just feel full; I felt metaphysically satisfied. My soul feels clean. My internal organs are humming a happy tune. If you don't go to The Windmill for their carvery, you aren't living. You're merely existing. Go forth, and be blessed by the bounty!

Wonderful Birthday Celebration at Stone House! We recently celebrated our son's 9th birthday with a pizza party at Stone House, and it was a truly delightful experience. The kids had an amazing time — not just enjoying delicious food, but also getting hands-on by making their own pizzas! The staff at Stone House were incredibly patient, friendly, and engaging with the children, guiding them through the pizza-making process with great enthusiasm. The ambience was warm and welcoming, perfect for a celebration. It was heartwarming to see the kids so excited about baking their own creations. A big thank you to the entire Stone House team for making the event so memorable and fun-filled. Highly recommended for anyone planning a kids' party or a unique family outing!

Ordered a take away cavery as reviews all seemed good for this. The food is actually nice, home made roast, nice stuffing and meat was nice. The only reason marked down was I ordered 2 meats, turkey and beef and the amount of turkey was really small. It was one tiny piece about tge size of a spoon. I also think that they onky have 1 standard size take away box so there was no point ordering a large and paying the extra for it

A wonderful pub/restaurant located at a residential area in Denton, Manchester. This pub has separate bar and restaurant areas and the eating area is quite spacious and got plenty of people. I’ve been to this pub other times and I must tell the service remains very good and friendly staff who are always ready to help. Food and drink prices are fair and their food quality is top. No wonders it has been operating for so long. Will definitely return on my next trip to Manchester.

Took a trip to The Windmill recently and had a great experience. The food was tasty and came out quickly, and my other family members loved the carvery. What really caught my attention is how nice the staff is I was served by Dsean. He served our food with a smile, cleared our plates, and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. His kind and great service is what really made the trip worth it. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back!
