I took my mother for a Saturday carvery which turned out to be very tasty & good value. They was plenty off options as you would expect off a carvery selection., inc roasts, new potatoes, cauliflower cheese, cabbage etc.. The meats we had a choose off was gammon, turkey & beef this Saturday dinnertime. I booked a table which was easy & no problems. I asked for a table not to for from the carvery as my mother would struggling to walk up steps etc with a plate off food which they duly found for us. Speaking off this when they seen my mother with said plate, a polite & friendly staff member offered to help in take my mums plate to her table, even before i could offer myself. The atmosphere was as you would expect for Saturday dinnertime which was a steady flow of customer's. We will vist again.

We booked a table , turned up and waited at the wait here sign . No one came to help us and after 3/4 mins I decided to talk to the bar for some assistance. Whilst being ignored by 3 different staff members finally some one approached me and I explained I have a table booked. She took us to our table 51 and left us there telling us to order on the app or come to the bar. The table infront then came and the man who was helping them gave there kids menus and explained that the app is not working for 10 mins so they will have to order at the bar. I was wondering why I had not been told that and also more worried at why we have not been given menus. I decided to go and get some menus from a nearby counter and then went to the bar to order. I placed my order and ordered a coke. After being poured I politely asked if it can be topped up as paying £4 for a coke you do want to get your moneys worth . The reply from the lady was sorry it’s company policy not to top up drinks. I was gobsmacked at the reply , such a simple ask refused. Then all of a sudden some other member of staff decided to stick his beak in and also mentioned it is company policy !. Is it not company policy to give great customer service I ask . Funny when there is a dispute all the staff come rushing around like it’s entertainment but when you need one there no where to be seen. On a plus side the food was 7/10 average . Will not be coming here again.

What an amazing experience from start, during and to finish. Welcomed warmly by a delightful gentleman who quickly got a table for the 3 of us as we didn't have a reservation. The food was delicious and in big portions, something I have not seen in my local pubs on Gosport since covid 19 pandemic. Full compliment to the chef and all staff. Hobby Horse Farm is amazing all round, thank you team, and keep up the great work 👍

Five Stars for Service and Value! I recently enjoyed the breakfast buffet here and felt compelled to write a review specifically about the exceptional service and amazing value we experienced. From the moment we sat down, our waitress, Sam, provided service that truly elevates the meal. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and quick to refill coffee and clear plates, all with a genuine smile that made us feel completely welcome. It’s rare to find such naturally excellent, proactive service, and Sam deserves major praise for making our morning start so positive. Beyond the fantastic service, the breakfast buffet itself is outstanding value. The selection was extensive—everything from fresh fruit and pastries to scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and made-to-order omelets—and the quality was surprisingly high for a buffet price point. Considering the variety and quality of the food included, the price is an absolute steal in the area. This level of quality and exceptional customer care, like what Sam demonstrated, doesn't happen by accident. It speaks volumes about the leadership. I want to specifically recognize Gary the manager for creating such a well-run, efficient, and welcoming environment. It’s clear Gary sets a high standard for both quality and customer experience. We highly recommend this buffet for anyone looking for great food, excellent value, and service from top-tier staff like Sam and Gary. We will definitely be back!

I’ve never written a Google review because I haven’t cared enough to do so. HOWEVER, this is long overdue as last time I was there (2-3 weeks ago) on a saturday and had such a great service from Sam. She was attentive without being too invasive, extremely kind. I asked for eggs benedict (which were very yummy) but being latina, I felt I needed a little extra so I did ask if there was any salsa to which Sam went above and beyond to get for me. I would love a thousand Sams everywhere I eat as part of the experience but we as customers also need to give proper respect and great reviews to bring about more business.

Came in at lunch time and never seen a place so busy. Food came out perfect and not long of a wait, my partner had carvery and everything was delicious, my partner said the carvery was very friendly and a absolute credit to the kitchen team. The man and lady on the bar did their very best to get the que down as fast as possible but you can't please everyone yes people were moaning even though only 5 members of staff one running food, 2 on bar and 2 on the floor (maybe add an extra member or two just to ease the pressure) but never once did I hear any of them moan compared to other places I have been! I hope the Managers realise what a brilliant team they had on during the lunch time period on Wednesday 26th November. Please let them know that their hard work paid off and we are very happy customers keep up the hard work.

Just popped in the hobby horse 🐎 for a spot of fodder. Not bad at all to be fair, I went with the ode carvery, had all 3 meats then whacked some mash, red cabbage, roasties, carrots, parsnips, stuffing and gravy on me plate. The carrots 🥕 and parsnips were beautifully cooked and tasted devine but I was a little disappointed with the ode roasties today. I love a good roastie, but these today were quite hard so I don't know if they had been stood too long or what, but I prefer a nice mushy roastie! Polished my plate off then decided on squeezing a pudding in! My god, you should have seen the bad boy when it came out! I went with the cookies and cream cheesecake and it was mahoosive. Needed the loo before leaving, but was a decent meal although the ode belly looks very big tonight. Lots of foxes in the boozer obviously with there earlier ko against the sky blues. Lady in a wheelchair on the table next to us nearly got in a fight with some woman sitting behind, they were proper mouthing off at each other, not sure what the crack was but it was a quality watch 👌 Keep on cooking hobby horses 🐎
