Easily the best Fish and Chips I have ever had: Cyder Battered Haddock with tripple cooked chips. Very friendly staff, which is a highlight, but the food stole the show! Such high standards for what I thought would be a simple meal. Definitely go for it! I was in Leatherhead for work and was surprised by how pleasant it was, and this meal was the highlight of my trip.

Lovely spot to enjoy some food and drinks at. It has lovely outside area as well but I enjoyed the cosy fireplace inside.;) The young lady that served me was super nice (sorry I didn’t ask your name). The Penny plant burger was yummy - the chutney adds a nice twist to it! It had really nice atmosphere and was quite lively on a Monday afternoon! Thank you for a lovely experience after a long day!

Nice pub. Joe & Jack were serving behind the bar and handled everything perfectly. Good food. We shared 2 platters between 3 which was just right. Only criticism is the pub is a bit cold so the heating could be put on.

Came for lunch with my grandchildren, had the most delightful steak and thoroughly enjoyed their southern fried chicken. The staff was lovely and Izzy recommend the steak to us. It was a lovely atmosphere with a warm cosy fire. Would definitely visit again!

Never been to the Penny Black, interesting pub, but we won't be returning again, it needs a complete refit, revamp, and food restructure. To say the least it's a lack luster pub, which in these days of economic pressure on pubs to perform and provide quality food in quality vibrant atmosphere. I'm afraid that this pub is far, far from that, I don't know where this pub is going, except for closure if it doesn't turn itself around and quickly.

Terrible experience. Now I’m concerned who wrote all the positive reviews and if they’re even real. We waited for our food (shared Sunday roast and a pasta) for about 1 hour, even though the pub was half-empty. And at the end we got it cold, blent and not tasty. The only positive thing that they were opened on Easter evening.
