A person couldn't ask for a more pleasant stay. The decor is lovely, the room is spacious and comfortable. The food is fantastic and the staff is wonderfully friendly and make you feel very at home. Malcolm took great care of us and even gave us a ride to the train station when we left. I can't recommend this place enough, especially to anyone who has gluten issues. Everything on their menu is gluten free. I hope we can return here on a future trip.

Wow! What a great experience we’ve just had. A family meal to mark our Golden Wedding, needing to accommodate the tastes of a six year old through to seventy years plus, one of the party being gluten intolerant. |The food was truly excellent, including that from the children’s menu. But it was the interactions with every member of staff which took this meal to another level. We arrived early, before they were really open, but no problem - as warm a welcome as anywhere. Children are often viewed as an inconvenience, especially in the evenings, but not here - our waitress with her warm humour couldn’t have treated them better. Thanks for the tomato ketchup!!| Top marks for both food and service.|We’ve booked to go again this week.

We dined at the George and the Dragon Inn on Saturday, 21st June 2025 to celebrate my birthday, and the entire experience was exceptional. Both my friend and I have a dairy allergy, and the staff were remarkably attentive and accommodating throughout. The food was exquisite; authentically homemade, bursting with flavour, and clearly prepared with skill and care. The chef’s artisan bread was outstanding; we were genuinely tempted to inquire about taking a loaf home. Service was exemplary courteous, efficient, and effortlessly professional. We will most certainly return. Sincere thanks for a truly memorable evening.

The venue is in the middle of Knighton. My family went for their Sunday roast lunch on recommendation of neighbours and social media. We weren't disappointed! Hosts are caring and made us really welcome. Now, the food: This was a buffet lunch and quite the best we have had. The beef and turkey were very tasty and the choice of veggies and accoutrements excellent. A la carte dessert offered a small selection, but delicious choice. I can only say that we are impressed and will be back.

As someone who is intolerant to gluten, dairy and egg, Mike and Malcom the chef were extremely accommodating and assuring, especially as I was worried if there were any chance of cross contamination. However, considering it is a gluten free and dairy free premises, I had nothing to worry about. Such a lovely and friendly environment, will be visiting again. Thank you!

Had dinner recently at the George and Dragon Inn. Impressive menu (wagyu beef, scallops, etc), with good portions at good prices. The gluten free and dairy free menu worked well for our dietary requirements, and still tasted great. We liked it so much we came back for the Sunday carvery the next day.
