I visited Five Bridges recently for lunch and opted for the lunchtime menu. The meal was a bit of a mixed bag. The breaded garlic mushrooms were the absolute highlight – perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, and packed with flavour. Unfortunately, the hunters chicken was underwhelming. The portion of chicken was surprisingly small – only about three bites – and it lacked the hearty, satisfying quality I was hoping for. Service was another let-down. Despite the restaurant being far from busy, it took much longer than expected for food and drinks to arrive, which dampened the overall experience. In short, while there were flashes of quality in the starters, the portion sizes and slow service left me feeling a little disappointed.

The restaurant was less than 50% full when we visited, but still waited 40 minutes for our meals of a chicken burger and chips, sausage and mash and 2 children's meals of chicken dippers and chips. When the food arrived, all of the chicken items were very overcooked. Not burnt/black but very dark brown and obviously had been forgotten about whilst cooking. We decided to keep the meals as we had waited so long and the children were hungry. My sausages were black except for on one side, which had conveniently been placed facing upwards. Upon taking a bite I could taste they were burnt and turned them over to discover how burnt they were. I attempted to eat them as we had already waited long enough, and my blood sugars were dropping very low, but I could only manage one sausage before calling a staff member over. The staff member agreed the sausages were burnt, and promptly fetched me 2 more from the kitchen. No apology or anything, just 2 sausages plonked down on the table. The other issue I had was with the menu itself. Everything was either with chips or mash and peas. No other vegetable options on other dishes, and none available under the extras section. As a diabetic I like to obviously have less carbs and more vegetables in a meal, but was unable to do so here Would not recommend this restaurant based off of our visit. I hate to imagine the food quality when they are busy

Food was good. Service was very polite and courteous, but it was a little slow 😕. Don't trust the online buying purchase option, it looked as though it had gone through, but actually it had failed and didn't tell me. However the ordering via the 'human' route worked very well 😁

Great pub with a really welcoming feel. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed, exactly what you want from a local. The fish and chips were spot on—crispy batter, fluffy chips, and a proper portion size. Washed down with a perfectly poured pint, it made for a brilliant evening. I recently visited Five Bridges and had the carvery — it was absolutely lovely! The meats were cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavour, and the selection of vegetables was fresh and plentiful. Everything was hot and well presented, and the portion sizes were generous without being over the top. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Great value for money and a relaxed atmosphere — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Friendly welcome, clean table and cutlery staff attentive. We had the carvery meat is delicious veg lots of choice. Gravy needs to have more flavour and cauliflower cheese didn't taste like cheese we had the brownie sundae but hardly any brownie in it but overall good value for money.

The staff were friendly, efficient & professional. The food was very nice, well presented, hot, decent sized portions. The surroundings were pleasant. The drinks were expensive. We used discount vouchers we had received so the main meals were very good value. We were 5 friends lunching together & spent a little ofvtime chatting & at no time, once we had finished our meal, were we pressured to leave. We spent In all a very pleasant time together & look forward to our next visit.
