Fantastic, freshly made food. The best meal we've had out in a long time. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely, traditional pub, dog friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Great food with nice old songs played in the background. The pastry of the pie is absolutely phenomenal, recommend everyone to get pie if they have one. We love the side salad too, it is so fresh with light seasonings. We will definitely come back for more pies if we are around the area again.

This review is just for a lovely meal we had here, we haven't used the hotel. It's in a lovely place too, we walked from Hope on a path by a stream, as long as you're not scared of sheep it was a lovely dawdle. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, nice selection of beer and the food was great and good portions too. One priority for us is interesting veggie options, I'll eat anything, even veggie sometimes and finding imaginative veg options can be hard but there are some good ones here. Also check out a sister pub, the Old Hall in Hope.

We came for the Sunday roast with a very large group after our wedding. They were very good at catering to the complex diateray requirements of some of our guests. I enjoyed the roast, which was well above the usual pub style you may expect. I am told the vegetarian dinner was also good, but that the lactose free vegetarian wasn't great (no surprises 😉). They have some good traditional local ales on cask which I would recommend. They were very good at accommodating us as we had to change the time and then arrived early! Although the food did take quite a while to come out.

Dog friendly 🐕😃. Great restaurant/pub. Great atmosphere. The staff and manager are friendly and helpful, and nothing is to trouble for them. The food is amazing. The decor is definitely eclectic and interesting. I think if you played "I spy" in there, you could be there till closing time... 🧐👍

A really nice local pub—according to the locals, this is more of a spot for people from the neighbourhood than for tourists, which is exactly what I like. The beer was solid and well-poured. I didn’t try the food this time, so I can’t say much about that, but the place had a good vibe and friendly atmosphere. If I find myself in the area again, I’d definitely stop by for another round.

Amazing Sunday roast everything on the plate was out of this world! So fresh and cooked to perfection definitely will be back. Great service from Emilia and lots of credit to the chef Jordan. The pub has a very cosy atmosphere and lots of very good choices of drinks.

Excellent 👍 as always, great ambience, excellent selection of beers and wines and great food! Staff are also excellent and very welcoming too.
