Would recommend! 🤞🫡🍺 Went here on a Sunday afternoon. Beautiful pub with warm lighting scattered everywhere. Got nachos of a great portion size! There was enough of each topping and the ratio was perfect. The skin on fries were also great. Service was attentive- everything great overall. Would be a good place to celebrate occasions. Will be back (hopefully 🤞)

My first visit to Orange Tree (100 Stevenage Road, Hitchin, Hertfordshire SG4 9RD) was most enjoyable. The barman, Jordan, was friendly and knowledgeable, which was very important for someone with a dairy allergy. It was a pleasant experience with a good choice of dairy-free & vegan options. Their dairy-free pea & mint soup fish 'n chips & banana split were all well-prepared and tasty. The ambience was relaxing. For a congenial and cosy weekday business lunch, the Orange Tree which has a decent wi-fi signal, is highly recommended & worthy of its 5 star review. John Aalto (former ETB assessor).

Proper pub food. Great atmosphere, plenty of parking at the front and around the back. It’s dark and cozy. Came here with my friends and ordered the Chicken Burger with waffle fries, I really enjoyed it. Had dessert too, the Biscoff cheesecake and loved it. Great place to have a relaxed meet up with friends and family.

5* but worth more! The menu is great, such a variety of food. The staff are all lovely, always so accommodating for my disabled grandmother. This is our favourite spot to meet for family dinners and gatherings. Nothing is ever to much, staff are always happy to help :)

We decided to celebrate our friend’s birthday at this restaurant, drawn by its 4.4 rating and numerous positive reviews. Excited for a wonderful evening, we booked a table in advance. Our reservation was at 8:15 PM, and we arrived and settled at our allocated table by 8:25 PM. To our dismay, a staff member promptly informed us that we needed to place our orders within five minutes as the kitchen would be closing. This was shocking and frustrating, especially since the restaurant was listed as open until 11 PM. We received no prior warning or communication about this early closure, which we found to be incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. The rushed atmosphere significantly dampened our celebratory mood. The staff hurried us so much that we barely had time to glance at the menu and ended up ordering the first items we saw. When the food arrived, it was another letdown. Despite the positive reviews, the main courses were subpar and lacked the quality we had anticipated. Only the starters were somewhat enjoyable. *It seemed evident that the rushed service impacted the preparation and overall quality of the dishes* In summary, our experience at Orange Tree was far from satisfactory. The staff’s behavior and the poor quality of the main courses completely ruined what was supposed to be a joyful celebration. Given this, I would rate this highly-rated restaurant 0/5 if I could. However, since that’s not possible, I’m reluctantly giving it 1 star.

I’ve actually never eaten here but based on their social media marketing, they’ve caught my attention a few times and I’d love to go so I’ll be booking! I don’t even follow them so not sure why the algorithm always brings them on my time line but the two young ladies always posting fun and engaging content make me chuckle. Good luck girls and hope it all works out. I’ll be sure to say hi when I do pop in.

Overall disappointing. We booked a 60th birthday party for a table of 14. This was booked two weeks in advance. Whilst the food was ok and as expected, the service was appalling. We were left for 35 minutes before any drink orders were taken, starters took 40 minutes, and after the mains we were left alone for 50 minutes. We had to request our desserts twice before we were finally served. However these were served in two halves with a 20 minute gap between the two. Overall the food was fair. But there was no customer service or care and attention that you would accept. Especially as the total bill was over £300. The staff did not check on us and we had to keep going up time and again to get service. We will not be coming here again.

This is truly one of the loveliest pubs in Hitchin and it’s all totally down to the amazing staff and management. There isn’t a pub in Hitchin with better events on - I have danced to Kylie Minogue tributes, partied with DJ Santa at Christmas and had so many delicious family meals in here over the years. In the summertime their garden is also a must do! Just love it!!!!
