We booked online while travelling from York. The inn is about 8 miles from Hexham. Roof was comfortable, though the en suite was very small. I had the veggie lasagna, which was tasty even though not well presented. Breakfast options were full English or cereal. We chose cereal. The full English that other visitors had was a plate full. Our breakfast on the other hand was a very small box of cereal and a single slice The inn claims to be 4 star, it's certainly not like other 4 star hotels though. Overall It's not a standard hotel, bit it is part of the travel experience. Having said that, we would stay there again.

I've been to this pub many time to stop . Meal including Sunday lunches and the breakfast are 10 out of 10 . Alison and Anthony can not do enough for you . Rooms are very clean and so comfortable. Beautiful views just an amazing place to be I will be back Thanks to a fab couple

I was not impressed. The shower was in the bedroom. Evening meal vegetable lasagne dry. Breakfast was nice until the bacon I hadn’t ordered as I don’t eat meat was taken Off my plate with fingers.

I live locally. This was the worst meal I'd had in any pub ever. No draft ale or cider. Cold room. Cold soup served with a slice of white bread. Thank goodness I didn't try the Sunday lunch which might have frozen to the plate in the sub zero temperatures. This used to be a warm welcoming pub with good food

Lovely friendly staff. Wonderful Dinner, best deep fried fish my hubby has ever had anywhere! Excellent steak. Cracking crumble and ice cream to finish. Lovely atmosphere, warm and welcoming.

Beautiful rooms with lovely views. Our room was lovely and warm too despite the weather outside being a bit damp. Nice walks in the area and a beautiful part of the world. Staff where really friendly and helpful and the food there was amazing we would definitely love to come back soon!

We went to this restaurant twice and were very impressed. We had the steak (cooked just right), Sausage and mash, and fish and chips. Food was delicious and extra level tasty. Staff really friendly and accomodating our small baby

Amazing pub with excellent food and service. We stopped here at random looking for some food and were very pleasantly surprised. Beautifully decorated, bright and lovely furniture etc with real fire. We had meals of duck, pheasant and fish and chips - all fantastic top notch food and reasonably priced. Also provided a high chair for our baby! Highly recommend - we will definitely be returning next time we're in the area!
