We visited today for a Sunday roast as a group of five, and it was absolutely superb. The food was delicious, well‑cooked, and generous in portion — exactly what you’d hope for from a traditional Sunday roast. The atmosphere was welcoming, and everything ran smoothly, making it a really enjoyable outing. The only slight disappointment was that after being given the dessert menu, no one returned to take our order, which meant we missed out on finishing the meal with something sweet. That aside, the overall experience was excellent, and we’d happily return. A great spot for a hearty Sunday roast with friends or family. We will absolutely come again.

I would advise anyone visiting this place to simply avoid. I’ve never known such a shambles and will never dine there again. The service is terrible and the food is average at best. We reported that one of our meals was overcooked to which they said they would have a word with the kitchen staff, to only then not even provide an update, an apology, or rectify the meal. Just simply ignored the whole time after and hilariously asked if we wanted anything else to further order when we did finally get acknowledgment, but still no mention of the issue we reported with the meal. Gladly we left and will never visit again. Simply avoid this place and go find a place that delivers great service and great food.

A group of four stayed on Saturday as we were attending a wedding close by. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, letting us use the rooms before checking in, so that we could change clothes. We had a lovely lunch before heading out. The rooms were large and very comfortable with everything you could need. The next morning we sat down to a cracking cooked breakfast.I highly recommend staying and eating here.

Wonderful place to stay really quiet and peaceful in a small village. Pub beautiful staff really lovely. Food fabulous and breakfast great. Just a great place. Bedroom clean tidy everything you need. Big garden. Outdoor pizza bar on a Friday. Perfect. In every way. Little farm shop Jades is lovely. That’s attached to the pub.

As we were staying in the area. I chose here to take my husband for a birthday meal. |As we parked in the carpark, I was drawn to the beautiful gardens. The pub was just what I wanted, cool, cozy and inviting.|As we were early we had a choice of tables and as we had our dog with us, found a very comfortable spot in the corner where Maggie could lie down. |All the staff were lovely. The menu was varied, I had the pate, linguini, followed by a peach crème brûlée that really cleared the palate. I will definitely be coming back here again. Well worth it.

Superbly located if you need easy access yo the A1. A few rooms, in a converted outbuilding looking out over a pleasant garden. Good restaurant and breakfast, although perhaps oddly, no skimmed or semi skimmed milk when we stayed. Otherwise, all good.
