Surrey’s hidden gem. We received a warm welcome on arrival. Offered iced water on a super hot day. Room 3 was superspacious, with a luxurious shower, clean cool and comfortable with plenty of character.. The staff were friendly and attentive. Good varied menu, lovely garden. Added bonus adjoining coffee shop with gluten-free options.

Lovely old pub, hidden away, very little parking, food more expensive than paid elsewhere, ordered fish pie but it had no pastry, was delicious but not what I was expecting. Nice beer garden out the back.

This pub and restaurant is a gem worth finding. I almost don’t want to share how good it is due to its location; it is along and up streets which really should only allow pedestrians, or perhaps a small horse and carriage. It’s like visiting a village from a period drama. If one does drive to this location great care is required navigating said narrow roads. We had a shared mezzo, including the most fluffy and light falafels, made with beetroot. We also had lamb kebabs with yogurt and mint sauce on a bed of the freshest lollo rosso , grown down the road by the publicans, along with all other vegetables. The garden is beautiful, it feels like one has been invited to a garden party. Both of the staff that served us were excellent and absolutely charming. The pub is a short walk from one of the most beautiful churches and graveyards that we’ve ever seen. The pine forest of Hurtwood are majestic. I want to thank the he people who have managed this land and made it accessible for the public,

We go here most weeks for a casual lunch. Always greeted by super friendly staff. The fish goujon sandwich is so delicious and the burgers are fantastic too. The vegetarian medley is really interesting with celeriac and tempura broccoli and the deserts are made with love and beautifully presented. Anastasia makes the best Aperol in Surrey!

We had the most excellent Sunday Lunch today after a lovely long walk up to Leith Hill Tower . The location is great , very nice and clean and cosy on the inside and the staff are delightful - the garden is also lovely so we will return in the summer . We all had an excellent and very generously portioned roast lunch ( bear in mind it’s only roasts on Sunday but they do a very decently sized and priced kids version) plus some delicious sides . Between us we had beef , gammon and lamb - all cooked to perfection and the normally fussy children finished their plates . My only regret was we were too full for pudding . Thank you to all the team we had a lovely lunch !

Came in with my partner for dinner, we waited a long time for our food, I appreciate it takes time however we were the only us two in the whole pub and no one informed us of a wait. The food came out lovely, and tasted very nice however the cauliflower steak was not very filling, it is again lovely but could use A little more smaller cauliflowers or perhaps something As A side. We had some lovely desserts to finish, however dessert was followed with loud music coming from above, which I presume was coming from the kitchen. I love some decent tunes on out a Friday night but NOT when I’ve taken the time to come out to the countryside for a peaceful date night with my partner.

Stumbled across this charming pub while walking in the area (thank you Fancy Free Walks). What a gem! Ate the BEST fish & chips while our hound slept at our feet near a warming fire. Didn’t see the bedrooms but the loos were fab! Highly highly recommend.
