Matt and Freya were lovely tonight. It was my wife’s birthday and we enjoyed a great night out. The food was excellent (especially the pie) and it was interesting to hear about how the pie was developed. Throughly good night out.

My husband, son myself and our dog came here today for a late lunch/early dinner. We were made very welcome and shown to a table near to a lovely warm open fire. Our dog was made a fuss over and enjoyed a treat he also had some lovely fresh water. After our order was taken out drinks arrived really quickly. We all opted for the lunch special price menu our son and I had the sausage and mash (him vegi me meat) my sausages were really meaty and had a lovely flavour and the gravy was good, thick and tasty. Our son really enjoyed his too he said they were nice sausages and it was nice that it came with gravy. My husband went for the rump steak that he asked for it to be medium rare. He said it was perfectly cooked and really tender. The portion size was brilliant big enough but not ridiculously huge. We had enough room for dessert 2 portions of crumble and one of ice-cream. Delicious. We are only here for a couple of days which is a shame I would definitely come again if we were here for longer. This is a great pub serving fabulous food, at very reasonable prices I would highly recommend a visit, or two.

I had the pleasure of dining at the thatchers needle last night, and it was easily one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time. The Atmosphere The vibe strikes the perfect balance between sophisticated and cozy. Whether you’re looking for a romantic date spot or a place to have a meaningful catch-up with friends, the lighting and decor create an incredibly welcoming environment. The food was so good i wish i had 2 mouths. When i decide to have children one day im gonna do all i can to make sure that they can also have the same experience i had. I dont understand why there wasnt a massive queue we were immediately seated. As i come here often it never fails to disappoint sometimes I order at multiple tables. I come in order at 1 table eat my food and then quickly sit somewhere else and order again but with a different accent. 10/10 will be back soon

Last week my mum went into the restaurant in person and booked a table for four, requesting to be seated near the front by the window as being visual impaired she need the light. She was told this would be fine and left knowing she had booked the table. When our friends arrived first, however, they were told there was no booking under her name. And we couldn’t sit where she wanted to as it was set up for Christmas dining. Eventually we were seated by a large window to the side, but were informed that this area was not table-served and that we would need to order at the bar. We were able to order drinks and our main courses initially by table service, but later had to return to the bar to order dessert. All four of us chose the two-course set menu. One member of our party requires a gluten-free diet for medical reasons and selected the gammon. But When it came to ordering dessert, she was told that gluten-free puddings were not included in the set menu. This was very disappointing, especially as her gluten-free requirement is medical, not a lifestyle choice. I am baffled as to why the set menu caters for vegetarian options but excludes gluten-free desserts. As a result, her meal ended up costing more than expected. We were also not advised at the time of ordering that gluten-free desserts were not included in the deal. Overall, this was not a good experience and left us feeling quite disappointed.

I didn’t go in expecting anything crazy, but the place surprised me in the best way. The staff were genuinely friendly — not that fake “hi welcome” energy, but actually chill and helpful. Food came out quicker than I thought, and everything was proper fresh. Also The waitress that served me was amazing her name was Iris she was very easy to talk to and was a natural confident speaker and was nice. Same as the rest of the staff

Great lunch first time I've ever eaten there although it's been open for years. Sea bass delicious as with sauce and the Parmentier potatoes. Jenny so friendly and welcoming and Reuben excellent too. Will return. Thank you.

This is our second time of eating here this year and the food and service were as good if not better than the last time. In fact, I would say the team here went above and beyond many more expensive eateries! Thank you all especially Freya who made our friend's birthday a special one and gave us such great service.
