Five of us went for Sunday lunch, on recommendation. We were not disappointed. Four of us had a tasty nut roast & the other a generous portion of chicken. The vegetables were served in bowls to share. Parsnips, carrots, brussels, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, mashed swede & broccoli. There was more than enough. Plenty of gravy. All our dietary needs were catered for and they couldn't do enough to make sure everything was ok. All done with a smile. We all had plenty to eat & were well stuffed by the end. The only negative was that the yorkshire puddings were soggy. A small complaint that would not stop me from eating there again. A more than reasonable price too.

Lovely old style pub. I went for a game of pool with the kids. Free pool in the main bar or only £3 for an hour down stairs. There is a few top spec dart boards downstairs too. £5 a pint of Guinness which is a good pint too. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Would recommend a visit for all of the above.

Situated on the high street, the Ship Hotel is a small local pub, cafe and hotel set in a quaint building. For a stopover on your visit to Crediton, it is central, convenient and inexpensive. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Service of both foodd and drink is quick and reasonably priced. Pay them a visit, you wont regret it.

Had to attend a funeral of a very close friend's father in Crediton (a man who was an esteemed QC, Crown Court judge and doyen of the Western Circuit) on the Friday. Other places available in Exeter or surrounds but this was bang in middle of the town providing easy access to church. Extremely good value at £47 per night (breakfast offered separately) and immaculately clean white linen and towels. Water and milk in fridge and selection of teas/coffee and few biccies. Staff were diamonds (Donna in particular) and very friendly, laid back and understanding (as in when I rang them from Tiverton to say I had the room keys in my pocket - told me not to stress and post back when I could). |I could have paid double the price and not had such a good stay. The hotel actually did the wake of the funeral I went too (they do outside catering) and the food at the wake was exceptional, especially the home made scotch eggs!|Decor a little tired, a little noise from the street as shops opened up but can't praise the value, friendliness and comfort of this place. Thank you for a great if brief stay!

We were locked out of the hotel with no over night staff and no response to the 24hr mobile for 3 hours. After a 20hr shift working. Abusive staff on telephone to booking agent. Rooms basic but passable, noisy floors and walls, leaky toilet. Windows need attention (noisy) and only light curtains (bright). Had to block staffs mobile number after flood of text messages and ignoring requests to stop.

This is my 4th stay at the ship and I find that this is amazing value for money. The staff are lovely and even carry luggage for you! The rooms are very clean and I cannot say a bad word about this hotel. If you don’t believe me then try it for yourself. I promise you that it is a little gem run by little angels. Thank you so much for yet again another lovely stay!
