What a lovely traditional pub! My husband and I visited for lunch after a wet walk with our 3 dogs. We were welcomed in by the owner and their adorable little dog, Bonnie. The food was delicious. Home made and fantastic portion sizes. My husband had the lasagne, a favourite of his and said it was one of the best he’s had. I tried some and agreed! I had the sausages and mash, also one of the best I’ve had. Service was friendly and attentive. Cannot fault it.

Perfect place to stay for a country weekend away. The landlord, landlady and their little dog Bonnie made us and our dog feel very welcome. The food was great, our dog even got a sausage for breakfast. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will be back soon.

We stopped for lunch, having never been before and we were really glad we did. The service was great and the food was excellent. We were also very impressed with the prices. I had a Caesar salad with chicken - it was fantastic! There's a small car park, which is handy and there's plenty of seating inside - plus a small games room. Will definitely be going back again!

Had a lovely lunch here today. The weather was appalling so decided to treat ourselves to a pub lunch. After looking at reviews for pubs in the area we settled on The Craven Heifer and I’m so pleased we did. A lovely warm welcome from the owner who offered us a couple of seating options to accommodate me and my wife, two children and a dog. My son and I went for the steak and ale pie which was amazing! I’m very picky with my meat and don’t like fatty bits but I didn’t need to worry. Beautiful, tender meat in a rich gravy and with the best chips I’ve ever had in a pub. Apparently the landlady does them herself by hand and is particularly proud of them and rightly so. They were fabulous. My wife had scampi which she really enjoyed and my younger, fussy son had the chicken nuggets. He finished the lot which says speaks volumes to how good they were. A big thank you to The Craven Heifer for making a wet and windy day much brighter. We won’t hesitate to call again when we are in the area.

Popped in today for a pub lunch and couldn’t fault it. The food was more reasonably priced than other pubs we’d seen and was great! All seemed to be made in house and cooked fresh and was very tasty indeed - highly recommend the heifer burger with homemade onion rings and hand cut chips - yum! Bonnie the dog was a lovely friendly addition too.
