Royal Marine Hotel, Brora

My three-night stay at the Royal Marine Hotel was nothing short of exceptional, and I can’t recommend this gem highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the perfect blend of elegance and warmth that defines this hotel. The experience went beyond my expectations, making it a truly memorable getaway. The staff ( Linda and Billy in particular) were outstanding—friendly, professional, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure my comfort. Their genuine hospitality made me feel right at home, and their attention to detail was impeccable. The rooms were beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable, offering a serene retreat after a day of exploring. The facilities, from the inviting lobby to the well-maintained amenities, were top-notch. I particularly enjoyed the tranquil ambiance throughout the hotel, which perfectly balanced luxury with a welcoming, relaxed vibe. The dining experience at The Curing Yard was a highlight in itself (as I’ve mentioned elsewhere!), but the entire hotel experience was seamless and delightful. Every aspect of my stay, from the warm welcome to the thoughtful touches, made my three nights at the Royal Marine Hotel truly special. I left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to my next visit. If you’re seeking a place that combines comfort, style, and exceptional service, this is the hotel for you. The Royal Marine has an old-world luxury feel. The meals (even the cut-down winter menu) are very good (if a little on the pricey side) and the breakfasts are superb. The rooms can be a little gloomy and some aren't ideal for a working trip due to a lack of desk but are stylish and comfortable - ideal for a romantic stay.

Recommend this hotel for a complete recharge. Stunning 2 mile beach next to the hotel. Golf course also nearby. Lovely staff and locals who made a big fuss of our dog which made the trip very relaxing. Would be happy to stay again.

A fantastic hotel where we just spent a few days. We were lucky enough to get a large room and it was lovely. The food is good with a reasonable selection, of your only staying for a day out two or would be great we stayed longer so a bit of reporting crept in, or maybe I am too choosy! The bar is great and cosy with a good selection of beers and other drinks and I would recommend it to anyone. The staff excelled themselves as well so absolutely deserve all the praise I can give them.

Booked a junior suite for two nights as part of our trip on the NC500. The room was large and very comfortable, just perfect. Found the food and wine menus very reasonable, both with a sensible choice of well priced options. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Spent our second day at Dunrobin castle which was well worth the trip, especially the falconry display which was included in the admission price.

This hotel has the most welcoming & friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them I would thoroughly recommend it. Will be returning next year.

Great location and easy to find. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Good food. Cosy rooms. Was a wee bit pricy but considering the overall experience it was worth it.

Terrible reception and service throughout our stay, especially from the male service personnel. Brought wrong wine bottle, no excuse, poured wine over glass and did not clean it up. |Chips were not crisp at all and medium rare meat has been served rather well done. At the end a service charge of 10% equalling 25 pound had been charged despite this experience. It has been one of the worst experiences ever.
