I really didn't want to write this review, because then it will be even more difficult to get a table for Sunday dinner! Best Sunday roast in Brixham, great traditional pub, great service, lovely quality food at an amazing price, I love that you get a seperate jug of gravy to yourself, definitely no room for dessert after! Nice friendly ambience. Be warned, you will probably need to book in advance. Worth it.

Six of our friends booked in for a birthday meal at the pub following a recommendation. It was our first visit and we were not sure what to expect but ALL six of us agreed it was the best meals ( for what we chose) we had ever enjoyed. Two fish pies (packed with prawns, salmon, white fish) a Hunter's Chicken, Fish and Chips, Scampi and chips and Cottage Pie and each and every dish was SUPERB. The best ever in a "proper" pub with a helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely be going back again SOON.

Amazing staff, food and drink. Visited whilst staying in the area, Stunning food, huge portions and catered for my daughter's dairy allergy. My lasagne was gorgeous and the Fish and chips were massive and our burger was awesome 😎 I'd highly recommend it, but book first, especially on a Sunday, it's popular!! Thanks to the staff btw, who couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming 5*s for sure!

Fabulous curry with a friendly and warm atmosphere. People around us were eating different things from the menu and like us were delighted with the quality of the food. Well done Golden Lion you've nailed it!

Another excellent meal out with 5 friends, I had the Vindaloo curry that was fantastic, some had the steak and they said it was the best they have had for a long time, the others had steak and ale pie which was also fantastic and loads of onion rings, this is now our local food stop when down our caravan and Price is very reasonable.

Eight of us had a roast today It was absolutely fabulous loads of food. I took my family ,have been telling him about this place for awhile and no one was disappointed. A bit of the beaten track in Brixham, but worth a try

Delicious Sunday roast and great service. Lovely home cooked food and plenty of it. We ordered extra sides of cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. Have visited a few times before and will certainly return. Cannot fault it.

Fabulous Sunday lunch lunch here with family. Really busy which is always a good sign, but did mean the wait on food was over half an hour. However it was so worth the wait! Highly recommend. Best roast ive had in years ! Staff really friendly and work hard . Not far from harbour, too.
