First visit - We called in because when our son walks past on the canal he noticed the food always looked lovely and the gorgous smell. We are so pleased we visited - all three of us really enjoyed our meals. Plenty of free parking, very friendly staff, quick to serve. The food was arranged nicely on each plate and hot. Value for price was great too. We will definitely return for sure. Second visit - (we loved the food so much) Again all our food was lovely however my husband called into the gents and was really upset if the state of the sticky floor and smell 🤢 Something that is easy to clean. We called in on a Sunday afternoon so the staff should have had time at the end of the evening given a clean. This really spoilt our visit - we will not be returning - it makes me think what will be the cleanliness of the kitchen.

One of Blackburn's best hidden gems, Calypso's Caribbean food is to die for, perfectly cooked as ever and incredibly authentically tasty. Highly recommend the platter, a fantastic selection. Wish they'd deliver but still happy to pick up, thank you 😎👍

The red snapper, fries & coleslaw were delicious 😋 Cocktails were good, and the staff were friendly.

The food was average at best. Visually, the food looked authentic for the most part. Unfortunately, quite a few items were dry and tasteless. The tables were filthy with the mats actually stuck to the table as they were so sticky. The staff were the best part of the dining experience as they were attentive and provided a good service.

Was really excited to try this restaurant. We arrived as a party of 11 for Birthday celebrations. The two cocktails I tried where a strawberry daiquiri which was mostly blended ice which wouldnt melt down so abit wasted and a strawberry mojito which was really nice. I order curried mutton, the Mutton cooked beautifully the sauce not so nice, i think it was watered down too much and lost too much of the flavour. The rice and peas wasn't nice couldn't taste any coconut, or other spices. The rice was cooked nice but wouldn't of recommended that type of rice. Probably would of been nicer with kidney beans instead of pigeon peas (if that's what you used). The patty's where smaller than we thought but you did get 2 and was very nice and flavoursome. My partner got the jerk chicken wings for starters which he thoroughly enjoyed. The dumplings were absolutely beautiful. The young man who greated us on arrival was very friendly and helpful. The young lady with blonde hair who served our drinks was also friendly and helpful. Along with happy and helpful staff, atmosphere and music we had a lovely night. Thank you

Went for the first time for lunch. Food was 10/10 the red snapper, dumplings and patties were amazing. There was some confusion with the bill but the waitress handled it. Will definitely be returning with family and friends

Visited for the bottomless brunch. 2 hours of cocktails and a meal. The food was great. The cocktails came consistently and were fantastic. Worth £35 of anybodies money.

Been here numerous times and it is a long way to travel from Manchester but the ambience, the warm welcome, Friendly, Polite staff, Great pint, Great service, 5 Star Hygiene rating, Parking spaces, Great setting on the Leeds to Liverpool canal, Great selection of drinks and the food is out of this World 🌎. 5☆
