November 2025. The Waggon and Horses in the heart of Peasedown St John is an outstanding example of a well run traditional English pub. I am lucky to be staying with a friend nearby for a couple of weeks. This lovely local pub has a warm, friendly, jolly atmosphere. Nicely presented food available at different times of the day. My Sunday roast lamb lunch was a bargain at £10. (Book in advance by phone). Real ale drinkers are blessed with a constant supply of Doom Bar in perfect condition at about £1 less than pubs in nearby Bath. Dogs are welcomed with treats. Bathonians can catch one of the frequent buses from Bath bus station that pass through PSJ and be dropped at the Braysdown Lane stop just 50yds from the pub. Have your fill of food and drink and let a bus take you safely home 🤗 Jeff Manning

Old building put together from several cottages. The beer is good although I only had a buffet lunch so can't really comment on the food. There is parking out the back, but quite a slope and a bit rough so not great for wheelchair users. Front entrance is accessible but no accessible toilet, the only ones there are up some steps. Staff are friendly enough. Seems to be a place for locals and bikers.

Great choice of ciders, lovely Sunday and midweek roast , as well as breakfast on a Friday and Saturday I HIGHLY recommend this pub

The Waggon and Horses is the pub to go to. Food is amazing. Mid week roast and Sunday roast delightful. Very filling and tasteful. Kenny is very attentive, polite, helpful to list a few . He is a great asset to the owners John and Wendy. Thank you

It's a proper pub serving proper pub grub, whats there not to like? if your after a piece of ham and salad on a roofing tile for the price of a weeks rent it's not thr place for you!

An absolutely beautiful building. Friendly bar staff.... his first day. Food ....... I wouldn't have given my meal to a stray dog lasagne made of minced meat and garlic, no tomato sauce, no white sauce just pasta with melted cheese. When my partner told the manager that wasn't lasagne he responded with "what do you think it is then."
